The Eco-city Eco-Business Partnership Programme in India is being implemented in selected Eco Cities in India by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India in cooperation with UNIDO and the City of Vienna. Under the programme, two cities Tirupati (where the similar project is going on since December 2010) and Shimla were selected to execute Eco-Business concepts and approaches for which ECOPROFIT tool was chosen.

The ECOPROFIT concept is planned to be implemented through demonstration pilots that deal with renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste management and capacity building of the involved hoteliers.
